| Where do pets come from?
It is reported that the following edition of the Book of Genesis was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If authentic, it would shed light on the question, "Where do pets come from?" And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me everyday. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me." And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself." And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased. |
| And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names are taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal." And God said, "No problem! Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."
And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail. After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility." And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not worthy of adoration." And God created CAT. |

| And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.
And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved. And Dog wagged his tail. And Cat did not care one way or the other. |

| If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually? |

| But, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness? |

| The bond between people and their dogs is like no other. Dogs are our best friends, our co-workers, our guardians, and often, our rescuers. They serve us, adore us, entertain us, work for and with us, but most of all, they warm our hearts.
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. The dog has become man's best friend, and it's no wonder. His loyalty and love go far beyond what most of us will ever experience in our lifetime. He will adore you, love and cherish your company and only asks for a little food, water and your love in return. He doesn't care if you're fat or thin, rich or poor, dress fashionably or in rags, or whether you are handsome, pretty or ugly. Only that you treat him with kindness. He will be your faithful companion, protect you, honour you and make you his whole world. Have you ever known a person to ever be as excited and thrilled to see you come home, time after time, giving you kisses and everything he's got?! He's always ecstatic at your presence!! A dog's love is the purest form of earthly unconditional love you will ever experience. |

| SUNNY'S PETS I would like to share with you a beautiful part of my life ... my pets. They have been with me through the good times and the bad times. When I unexpectedly lost my late husband I was completely devastated and so lost, but my pets remained faithfully by my side to remind me that I was loved and wasn't alone. I believe God gives you these little soulmates to remind you that life is good and that He is indeed with you when you need to be loved and comforted. They are one of my greatest blessings in life. |

| Meet Aussie (pronounced Ozzie), a miniature Dachshund and our newest bundle of joy. Watching Aussie check out the water fountain is Wheezy, our number two Pekingese pooch. They are the apple of my eye!! God knew what he was doing when he created these sweet little soulmates! |

| Meet Smooch ... I found him as a starved, near death little kitty. He is 16 years old now, pampered, spoiled, independent and Mr. Personality! Don't let his snooty posture fool you, he's actually showing off his profile ... he loves all the cuddling he can get! Yes, I would say I have been truly blessed! |
